WILD QUEST 2
By Frank
Being the “Toy Connoisseur” that I am. (lol) Every time I walk into any department store, I almost always go straight to the toy isles to see what they have to offer. Sometimes you can find some great stuff in some of the discount stores and sometimes you find a bunch of crap. This is about one of those times when you find something actually worth buying.
The other day while walking into “National Wholesale Liquidators” I looked through their piss poor toy isle expecting to see their usual barrage of knock offs and toys I don’t want, when I ran into a unique and fun brand of toys called “Wild Quest 2”. These figures, are reminiscent of the 70s Fisher Price “Adventure People” toy line. That’s what I thought of first when I saw these figures.
They have all these cool looking action figures and each come with plenty of accessories and an animal. With names like, “Trekker Bill (Star Trek fan?), Wildboar Max, and Quickgun Wallace, what they lack in name originality they make up in playability.
The one that caught my eye was this classic African looking guy. He had no name on the box so I don’t know what they call him. But he looks REALLY COOL! He comes with a bunch of accessories too. A spear, whip, Knife, axe, a crossbow with 3 arrows, and a net to catch his biggest accessory, a hyena! He’s not very articulated, but who cares! Look at him!! This toy line also has bigger sets with cool looking jeeps, boats, animals (keep an eye out for the elephant set!) and TONS of accessories. If you were ever a fan of the Adventure People toy line, make sure you check these figures.
All in all a very cool item and a good find. For $2.99 he is definitely worth buying and I think I will be collecting the rest of these characters. These are not only great for children but for the Collector who wants something a little different. I can see making a section in my display case a “Safari” theme. HMMM……
