1- What is it that you collect?
Action figures and statues.
2- What was it that brought you to collecting?
And what is that keeps you going?
3- When did you start collecting?
It started with Starting Lineups early 1990’s.
4- Why (what you collect) example:Batman, Star Wars, Transformers, etc…?
Little bit of everything.
5- When did you start displaying them?
2 years ago.
6- How do you get your inspiration to organize and display your collection?
I just try to make the most of the space I have.
7- Do you have a favorite character(s) you collect?
My favorite character since I was a kid is Green Lantern.
8- Which item in your collection would you say is your absolute favorite and why?
I love my statue collection.
9- Which item was the most difficult to obtain? And which one is your prized possession?
Bowen Dr. Doom. Took me a while to get that statue for a decent price.
10- What is the oldest item you own? and the one with the most value?
I collect most of the newer items. Most valuable is my Larry Bird collection. Signed basketball and jersey.
11- What inspires you to purchase an item to add to your collection?
The look of the figure is the most important.
12- Customizing figures and statues has become very big, have you ever purchased a custom figure or statue and have you ever tried making one?
No
13- What do you think of the custom Craze?
I really never put much thought into it.
14- Where do you make most of your purchases from? ebay seems to be a favorite with collectors these days, are you an ebayholic?
I have purchased a lot of my statues on ebay. But never sold anything, yet.
15- Is your collection insured?
Not yet.
16- What is missing from your collection that you hope to one day acquire?
Marvel Legends Dark Phoenix.
17- What is the usual reaction when people see your collection?
I have always been a collector in one form or another. Some of my friends are collectors also.
18- Do you attend conventions for some of your purchases? could you tell us about that?
I have been to some conventions. But I have only made a few purchases.
19- Most collectors today go on what they call a toy run, do you participate in that as well? And what are your favorite spots? Do you have a routine?
I do not have a routine. I buy a lot of my figures at comic book shops. I have also bought Legends by the case.
20- How do you decide what to take out of the package and what stays sealed?
In the beginning I opened everything. But I do not have the room now to open everything.
21- At what stage do you think your collection will be at 10 years from now, do you think you would have grown tired of it?
My collection will most likely in storage in 10 years. Once my wife and me have children I will have to give up the space. But I will always be a collector in one way or another.
22- What advice would you give someone who just started a collection?
Be prepared to spend a decent amount of money. It can get addictive.
