21st Century Toys M113A2 Personnel Carrier Review

The latest offering from 21 st Century toys is the M113A2 Armored personnel carrier in 1:32nd scale. The replica is made of die-cast metal with plastic parts and offers 2 action figures with the carrier. The carrier has hatches and doors that reveal detailed interiors and even has a replica of the Detroit Diesel 6V53 power plant. The model comes with working tracks and a replica .50-caliber machine gun with Commander's cupola shield and gun transverse restrictor on top. These carriers were used for cargo, ambulance, or reconnaissance work during the Vietnam War and updated versions during the Desert Storm and Desert Shield wars.

 

Packaging 7/10

The replica is packaged in a window box format that displays the carrier admirably, my only suggestion would have been if the window box format they used would of shown the front and back of the carrier. Otherwise its good.

Details 9/10

The replica has tons of details inside and out that you could spend hours looking and admiring at. I really like the how 21st century never dissappoints their consumers when it comes to details in the replicas.

Action figures (Sculpts) 6/10

The action figures that are offered in the replica are a bit less detailed. The painting scheme on mine weren’t exactly the best. It appeared as though the figures were rushed during the painting process, which is a shame. It really would of made a good display piece if they weren’t so bland looking.

 

 

Paint 9/10

With the exception of the action figures the M113 A2 was painted very well from the exterior all the way to the interior. The color schemes are accurate and flawless and if they offered a forest woodland camouflage or Desert painting schemes I would definitely purchase them as well.

Accessories 8/10

With only the 2 action figures offered it would have been nice to of had more accessories, but the replica is amazing enough that you don’t really miss it.

Overall 8/10

Overall the M113A2 Personnel Carrier from 21 st Century toys in 1:32 scale is an amazing collectors item. The replica can be enjoyed as a desktop replica or even can be proudly displayed in your favorite-lighted case. It didn’t get a perfect 10/10 because the action figures that came with my replica weren’t top notch. This is definitely something I would personally recommend for an avid collector of military replicas to pick up and add it to their collection.
