1- What is it that you collect?
Antiques: Currently Mego Action Figures, But I have also collected, Batman items, Star Trek Items, US Coins, Early Matchbox/Lesney, Old Soda Pop Bottles

2- What was it that brought you to collecting? And what is that keeps you going?
Aesthetics (artistic appreciation of the item) Also, Antiquity and Dollar Value

3- When did you start collecting?
Actively at age 10. I started out with old US coins. I learned early on that condition was everything. I set out and by the age of 20, accomplished getting at least one sample of every silver US coin minted in VF or better condition. Some of my favorites were EF to Unc. examples. Also, as a child, I had a few Mego Action figures and at age 27 I noticed that Playmates were re-issuing action figures that resembled the Mego’s. I then set out to find out what became of the old toys I once used to have imaginary adventures.

4- Why (what you collect) example: Batman, Star Wars, Transformers, etc…?
RCBatman indeed the first Mego I had. Got it from the Monroeville Mall in 1972. After it vanished, later in the 70’s I saw the other version and set out to find it back then. I finally got one in 1996 and now have owned a total of 14 of them.

5- When did you start displaying them?
Once I started the Mego Collection (1995)

6- How do you get your inspiration to organize and display your collection?
I stick to themes

Oldest is a English Silver Sixpence Dated 1697 and Most Valuable is probably the Mego Peter Parker.

Yes, I try to hit certain flea markets, antique malls and collectible toy stores.

Read. Learn as much as possible about the subject of interest and beware of those who would deceive you. Collect what you like. It may be with you for a long time.
