NECA's The Devils Rejects Bloody Showdown 3 Pack

Well folks! This is it! The end is nigh! The Apocalypse is a comin'! Sell your house! Put everything you own into canned food and shotguns! The Four Horsemen are just around the corner!

Don of the Dead has found a toy…too beautiful to open.

Take a minute, I know it’s a shock, sorry to all that I have caused heart attacks and pants wetting. Now after you get over the initial shock you must say "Don, how you gonna review a toy without opening it?" Well, that is where we come in lucky. NECA did a re-paint/sculpt of Captain Spaulding, Otis, and Baby from the Devils Rejects. I own the 3 single carded figures so I know of their articulation! The rest is cake!

Just like real life, a hot chick near by and all tied up with twist ties.....what...it just happens to ME?

Packaging: 10
Of course I'm giving it a 10! I'm not opening it! Its gorgeous, the huge window displaying our 3 heroes/devils in all their blood soaked glory. The box is grim and gritty with the back sporting the wanted posters of each character. The back of the box also has a dedication to Matthew McGrory, the actor who played Tiny in House of 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects.

 

Head Sculpt: Otis 9, Baby 9, Spaulding 10

NECA is probably the best in the business for sculpt, but sometimes they have trouble sculpting women. Baby looks just like Sherri Moon-Zombie at the end of the film, beaten and battered. Otis looks pretty damn good just like Bill Moseley, and it has that look of "The end is here, but I ain't going down without a fight" Spaulding is all aces again, Sid Haig is a man with a great face and NECA captures it again, the head wound is in the right place and the blood coming from the mouth is painted perfectly, not just splashed on.  

Sculpting Body: Otis 10, Baby 10, Spaulding 10

10s all around folks! Baby is terrific, the 1st Baby NECA did, wasn't bad…but it wasn't real good either (You can't stand her without leaning her against something) This Baby makes up for it. Spaulding is looking bulky and ready to kill with just the right amount of blood. Otis… shirtless with the wounds where Sheriff Wydell staple-guns pictures of the family's victims to his chest, not to mention the bound hands where Wydell drove nails to keep Otis glued to his chair.

Being Rob Zombies wife means cool movies and videos! It also mean finding the occasional dreadlock in your Cherrios.

Paint: Otis 8 ½, Baby 9, Spaulding 10

Blood, Blood Glorious Blood! Ok so this set portrays our 3 killers after they are captured and tortured by Sheriff Wydell. Beatings, whippings, staple guns and hammer and nails are just a few of the creative ways the Sheriff extracts his revenge (Don't worry, He gets his, in probably one of the coolest "f**k yeah!" moments in movie history) Every wound you see inflicted in the film is here on the figures.

Articulation: Baby, Otis, Spaulding 8

Ok, these figures DO lack a ton of articulation, however, the single carded figures had more articulation and it made them look...well bad. Not completely mind you but Otis and Baby's arm articulation defiantly took from the sculpt. NECA remedied it here by getting rid of the swivel articulation and giving them straight arms.

Bill Moesley, actor, musician, horror lover...and bakes a dynamite cheesecake.

Accessories: Baby, Otis, Spaulding 10

All the weapons they had in the end of the film as they SPOILER ALERT!! Drive their car into a police roadblock and a hail of gunfire. Otis has his 2 9MM, Spaulding has his Shotgun, and Baby has her revolver. It also comes with Otis's knife.  

Outfit: Baby, Otis, Spaulding 10

Wearing the outfits they had on as they were dragged from Charlie's Frontier Town (think western themed town of adult entertainment) and soaked with just the right amount of blood, not too much as some companies have done in the past.

Overall 9.9 out of 10

Aside from articulation this box set is amazing, I eagerly await having it signed by Mr. Haig and Mr. Moseley when they're here in Sept. I am tempted to buy a 2nd to open, but had a hard enough time finding this one.

Sid Haig once fought a Pitbull, there was massive blood loss and broken bones, but with the grace of God, they think the dog may pull through.
