My Clark Kent, intrepid Reporter for the Daily Planet, 12” figure
By Les Walker
To follow up on what I have been told is one of my most successful figures, the 12” Christopher Reeve Superman, I came up with a nice and easily made Reeve version of Clark Kent to round out the role and finish this theme up
I used the head I had originally resculpted for the Superman, and simply added the combed over hairstyle befitting the nerdier looking character, painted this up to speed, then found a nice pair of 1/6 nerd glasses and made sure they fit the head correctly. I then got a nice, clean pinstripe suit on the Barbie Frank Sinatra for the figure. I added a vest and Hasbro standard issue overcoat and a 1/6 scale copy of the Daily Planet for him to hold, and was pretty much done in a day or so.
When seen together, the two figures really compliment each other even though I used totally different base bodies. For this new figure, instead of the larger, more muscled,12” Mego Superman one, I used the inexpensive, but somehow culturally appropriate Donald Trump body, sans audio aspects, and this choice instantly gave me a nice pair of shoes as well. The two are about the same height and close to the same build, so it was an easy fit.
I hope that he is a successful figure, even if he is so simple.
Just one more figure down on my way to covering some of my all-time favorite movie characters.
