THE BIG APPLE CONVENTION
The Convention world has certainly become a busy one. The summer months were usually the only time Conventions came around, but now, with so many all over the country, the convention calendar has certainly become year round. The only thing is, with so many of these big Conventions going on, one would think that a metropolis like New York City should be home to one of these bigger Conventions as well. (Why not?) But various venue restrictions have made many shy away from running a show in good ole’ NYC. Fortunately, for the past 10 years, there has been a group keeping the Comic Book Convention alive in NYC. The Big Apple Convention!

The Big Apple Convention started in 1995. (Picking up the pieces left by former convention promoter Fred Greenberg) When they started their own Conventions at a church auditorium in Columbus circle after a major show (Promoted by Greenberg) was cancelled on the same day of the event. After a few years, attendance grew and they needed a bigger venue, so they moved up to the Penn Plaza Pavilion. The Pavilion is a huge space across the street from Penn station, and the Big Apple Show is getting bigger and bigger with each event!
